Well I got the first part right . I saw a lift gate on a pickup that was made by Palfinger after reading your post, from Western PA, the German migration, lots of their names ending with "inger"... thought I had it. Shoot! Larry is a worldly man to know what a palfrey is/was. That's you, Bill, a smooth rider

I figured it was something like that

Re: What does your screen name mean?

A follow up on how I came up with the name GOPAPA on this forum....My grandson Hollar'd {{{Go,,,,,,,,, PAPA}}} as he watched me run back in forth hauling dirt from out back of the house to the front yard with the back hoe.

I had him take on this look the way you see him in this photo as a tough guy to go along with the tough Chevy Truck that was going to be his one day ..

I have used 58 as my number throughout my life, It was my car number in my Demo Derby days!

I like the name and know what you deal with. This one here met his demise from a 243. Seeing a coyote on a fresh kill can make a man a little upset.

I carry my AR in my company truck when I’m out checking compressors in the field. I’ve killed a lot of them over the last several years. Always a good time.

Re: What does your screen name mean?

Well, I know that most of these threads take a turn off topic at some point or another, adds to the charm. However, since dead coyotes are less than charming (no offense intended), I will attempt to veer this back toward the original topic.

Boog, how about you? Is that short for...the obvious? Or for boogeyman? Or for boogie nights, haha?

What about you Kingsolver72? I might be able to Google that and get some idea, but my best guess is that you won a math competition in the early seventies and were crowned the victor.

Re: What does your screen name mean?

It's been fun reading through 3 pages and getting to know y'all a little better.
The only one I knew before now was Bill {Palf70step}. We met face-to-face at Cruisin' the Coast back in "03.
Anyway, mine is pretty simple too. GM are my initials {George Morgan} and my Chevy truck is a '69. Also, I drove a big truck for a foodservice company and my name on the radio was GMan, short for Grocery Man.

igfhten[QUOTE=Getter-Done;8951418]That is good to Know my Friend.

I hope people know better than to call it a Nomad

Your right. It has been commented on as being a Nomad. Had to straighten them out!!! One of the things that sets it off, are the chrome dust deflectors on the rear corners of the wagon.

I might be able to help on the Kingsolver72. Kingsolver is his last name and he had a '72 truck when he joined up...

Be that as it may, I did my best not to offend and tried to use humor to move the thread back on track because it's about screen names and dead coyotes on tailgates kind of don't fit the vibe.

Well, that about explains it all, haha. He could have made up anything about what that means and I would have believed it. I'm kind of envious of that last name, makes it sound like you know how to get things done.

I don't understand how you think this was off track. It was all in response to the original question

Just took the first 3 letters of my first/middle/last name. It is a stupid screen name but I have used it for years.

Mine is too simple to explain.
But 1984 is special to me because it was a turning point in my life. I will probably keep this truck until they take my license away.
