Post dana 60 help

i have a 1971 c20 with the eaton ho52 and 5.13ish gears and it tachs bad on the freeway, i picked up a dana 60 from a 1970 c20 big block truck for under $150 and was told its 3.54 and possible power loc i have a sm465 right now and was wondering if anyone ever swapped just the rear section of the driveshaft with the rearend so i wouldnt have to shorten it just swap rear of the carrier bearing? and also anyone have info on a saginaw 3 speed with an eletric overdrive got one for 25 bucks from a 1967 c10 and might want to use it

Shortening is easy and cheap. Is the 70 driveshaft available? Pop the cover on the 60 and get the ring and pinion tooth count. Powr-Loc looks like this http://www2.dana.com/pdf/5315-3.pdf

The 70 driveshaft is avavble wondering if I can just swap the part that's goes from the axle to the u joint by the carrier bearing and I piped the cover it's a open diff and is there anyway to get a replacement of the stud that bolts into the diff to mount the trackbar mine is rusted really bad can post pics if it helps

You can do it as long as both drivelines have the same carrier bearing, but you will have to have the driveline balanced. However just a direct swap with nothing else, that would be a no. As far as finding a stud, you may want to post a WTB thread in the parts board. WES
