Funny story. A guy on a wood working forum I am a member of was grousing about seeing ads for women's underwear. The stuff one sees on ads in forums is based (mostly) on what one has already looked at, elsewhere. It was a while back, so he probably was looking at that stuff at some point.

Backtrack a couple of days, after I had just cleared my cache. Wife sees scantily clad women on that wood working site, in my browser. I go elsewhere, and it shows some truly sexy wood tool chests, which I had been looking at. There's no escaping advertisers, anymore.

I have Bed Bath & Beyond ads because I was on overstock.com and I guess they are one in the same now

The site doesn't choose the ads you see. Google does that based on analytics of what sites you visit.

Click the x on the ad and select don't show me this. It's all based on your history or your ip addresses history. We have no control over it, it's all on you.

I just want to add I too got the very inappropriate ads, sounds like the same one a1 got. My phone, where I’m getting those ads, is an open book for anyone to look at. My wife and occasionally my grand kids use it. There is no way anything close to what’s on those ads are ever on this device. I will say it’s the first time it’s happened.

I noticed it earlier while reading through the thread and thinking that was odd, and it's still there

I haven't been on ebay in over a week and that was searching vintage rolex watches

since posting as it seems A1 did is bringing the blame on him, I suggest sending screenshots via pm somewhere to verify they are the same

furthermore, I just logged into this site on my new work iphone I received about a month ago and the same panel of ads is running on this site

I have NEVER been on this site on that phone and ebay is blocked on our dept. devices for security reasons

there is definitely something tied to this site causing it

Without seeing them myself, or knowing what the advertiser is I cannot block them. If you click the x and say don't show me this ad and select inappropriate. Google will see they are serving bad ads and remove them automatically. Or if someone can send me the website it's advertising I can add it to a no show list.

I have hit the X button over 30 times and these adds pop back up every time I switch to another thread on this site. I have hit each one of these options several times Not interested in this ad

Seen this ad multiple times! none of them work for more than one click. It's the most annoying thing I have ever seen on any site I have ever been on. Dark times! If this is not addressed somehow it will just get worse. Thanks for responding Josh.

Unfortunately the Bad guys keep finding new and different ways to invade our little empire. Having worked in the computer/engineering field for years I know how difficult it can be to keep ahead of this.

We should thank Josh and the staff for their efforts.

As far as phones go, ain't no keeping those virus boxes safe.

It’s not just about what you’ve looked at. It’s also about your age and demographics. I changed my birth year to 1901 in my yahoo account a while back and got a lot of viagra and depends ads popping up while checking my email on yahoo.

Aldo, it’s my experience too they don’t go away by clicking the X’s. Maybe it’s not the sites fault but it’s not “all on you” either.

I've been getting these for months now. They never did go away. Clicking the X and marking inappropriate does not work. Now I'm getting the banner at the top of the page as soon as I logged in this morning. Majority of the ads are Etsy. I hate that chinese crap

Figured I would try the site out again still using my Iphone. For the most part when using the phone I use the Safari browser, never had an issue with it here before. When the threads pop up about the ads I never had the issue. But it started last night and continues this morning. I tried the click the ads and select inappropriate like others have. Issue continues.

I also have on my Iphone the duck duck go browser, I believe its new. I open the site up with duck duck go browser and I get zero ads.

On my lap top (windows machine) I use fire fox browser with some sort of ad blocker and it uses the duck duck go search. Never any issues with crazy adds or embedded ads. Still working just fine today.

Overall probably no help unless guys with the issues might think about using the duck duck go browser.

I use the Brave browser for all other sites. Recommended by people on here. No ads pop up there!! But it won’t leep me logged in, and the desktop format doesn’t work properly (really hard to use). I’m not a tech guy so I don’t know how to fix those. So I use Safari for this site only. It formats great and keeps me logged in. Just gotta deal with the ads. Every issues like this I can’t help but think, they really think AI is ready to take over?!? Naaah lol

Some comments are saying the ads are on their phone -- I wonder if that's the only place those ads are showing up? I don't have a smart phone, so when I'm on this site (or any other) I'm on our desktop, and have never seen those problem ads. I use Chrome if it matters....

I am getting random ads at the top and bottom every time and sometimes in the middle of a page. One was a dating site, but not inappropriate.

It's a greeting card from ebay google ad. Barbie and Ken laying in a bed and saying to their little daughter , we are making you a little brother. and the little girl says , Do it doggie style , I want a puppy. Sickening to say the least that this pops up continually. I have never looked at porn on my computer ever so it's not coming from my end.

Getting a lot of adds imbedded into peoples post . Nothing vulgar but I is Duck Duck go . So the adds are very diverse from car parts to women’s shoes .

I got the random temu adds and a bunch of others for stuff that I wasn’t interested in and had never looked at in any capacity for quite some time. I got tired of it and installed an add blocker to safari and I have never had a single add since. It’s quite nice.
