LMC Fan Shroud Quality

Does anyone have any information on the quality of the fan shrouds that LMC is selling for 2WD small blocks (part #32-2820 and 32-2825)?

http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/cb/full.aspx?Page=117

It seems they are almost half the cost of what some companies are asking, but I'm concerned that the cheaper cost may be because of flimsy or poor fitting parts.

Any help would be great!

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

LMC has a bad habit of sending me the wrong parts. As far as quality I have been happy with every thing I have ordered from them. I have ordered bumpers and other stuff from them and they seem to be good quality just bad about sending **** for the wrong year of truck.

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

Maybe no one has actually bought a fan shroud from them?

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

i bought 2 4wd shrouds, for my 71 and the wife's 67 (our motors are mounted in the rear holes like a 4x4 so i have to use the deeper shroud.) They fit ok did have to fight with them some but for the savings it was worth it.

I ordered the same one you are referring to and was completely satisfied with the quality and fit. Like you I was skeptical because other vendors ranged in price from $99 to $129.

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

Mine was for a 72 Blazer 4wd... heavy duty radiator. So far its performing stellar... doesn't rub under acceleration or road vibrations... I'm very happy with it. Would order from them again. Their body panels don't always have the best fit... but the shroud and interior parts I used from them were perfect fit first time.

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

Just an update after getting my A/C fan shroud from LMC. I'm very happy with the quality and the price so I would recommend it to anyone else looking for a new shroud.

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

I have one that I've been using since 2006. Only issues I had was using it with the 4 row radiator brackets when the radiator was only 3 row. Correct brackets fixed all issues!

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

First, let me apologize for the thread necro. I saw a few other threads, but this one looked like the best one to reply to.

I got the 4x4 fan shroud from LMC (32-2826) and when I finally got around to trying to put it on, it doesn't fit. The bottom goes into the holders and sits little bit away from the radiator, maybe 1/2 inch or less, then the shroud touches the radiator going up the sides, and it looks like it touches on the top, but the top mounting screw holes are about 1/2 inch away from the radiator mount. Did I get the wrong shroud, or do I have a different model radiator?

Thanks!

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

Your radiator looks odd. The end tanks are not centered on the core.

Good eye, if the core was centered it would bring the shroud in were it should be.

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

Well that sucks. I was planning to replace the radiator anyway, but I wanted to do (several) flushes to try to get the block completely clean so remnants of the crap doesn't contaminate the new radiator. I guess I'll be doing that without the shroud.

Re: LMC Fan Shroud Quality

Thanks for the heads up. The one from LMC is kind of expensive, but it's good to know it works.
