Re: Blackest Black

I always thought black was black but I read somewhere that the Rolls Royce was one of the blackest. SPI can mix what ever you want ask them what is the blackest. PPG concept Is another one I like but more money. I did a 37 Ford a few years ago in concept single stage and I think he used a Mercedes paint code and it was BLACK

Re: Blackest Black

15 years ago my truck was painted with a Toyota Supra black. The painter said he added blue to get the correct Black.

SPI does not mix colors. they have a limited selection. their single stage is very comparable to PPG Concept. doing black i would NOT use base coat it would be single stage 3 coats. let dry block any wave and orange peel out with 600 then 3 coats and cut and buff where needed.

Re: Blackest Black

I have seen two different blacks both were ppg. In the sun one had a brown tint the other was just black. I think one was called triple black, this was years ago though.
