Re: Hard Top Comes Off Today ..Anyone else?

Top came off yesterday...it's my son's daily driver, he insisted. Immediately had to drive to town to umpire some rec games, didn't get home until 9:30 and froze his tookus off.

Looking like rain this morning, but off he went to school with no provision for covering anything up. Youth is definitely wasted on the young!

I promised the top to a fellow member here.... thought I'd post this as I have been getting a lot of PM's from people. If it falls through I'll let everyone here know in a post. It's a double wall top, aftermarket sliders, complete, no sags etc. Thanks for all the tips...keep posting!....Thanks...E

I might have to come check it out when I am down there next month.

On another note it is raining in Seattle. I doubt my top will be off before july.

Re: Hard Top Comes Off Today ..Anyone else?

I took mine off in 2001, and it has never been back on. It's been on a rack out in the weather since it was removed. The rubber is shot and the hinges on the hatch have rusted and the finish is chalking. I wish I would have been able to store it. The top was in perfect condition when I removed it. Now if I ever want to sell it or put it back on I'm goning to have to recondition it. If you have a place to store it, I would keep it. Think about resale. Future owner may want it.

How'd the soft topper install go? Are you happy with the top overall?

Instructions a bit poorly written. The top fits great and is adjustable so fine tuning required when it stretches out. The bed mounted bar was for a single wall top (so double wall tops need to be redrilled.) But so far so good. Didn't get scorched yesterday while out. It's nice not having the sun beat down on ya. Now I have to make a bikini top.
