always something it seems, that just makes it more enjoyable after you complete the build though, mine just went from slow to possibly for sale long story, but if I have to ditch it I will get another one when it works out, so I'll be watching the few I'm really into

I just read your entire thread. I love the paint choice. My Grandpa had a 55 belair that was root beer brown with a cream top, always classy if you as me. Great job on the stake pockets.

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

I realize it has been a while since I posted in my forum.
But I've had other thing going on.

As an effort to get back into going to the shop, I came up with a
fun project to do. I decided to make a radio controlled lawn mower.

It's not the pushing, Or walking behind a lawn mower that I hate.
But all the dust, And pollen. It kills my sinuses!!!

Besides, If I can make mowing grass more fun, What the heck!
A lawn chair, A beer, And a radio controlled 6.5hp lawn mower.
What could go wrong?

I'm starting with a John Deere self propelled lawn mower. I picked it up
at a local Snapper dealer for $50. It was a trade in.

Spike

Got it stripped down

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

Then I cut off the front and rear tabs.
And welded a swivel front end on.
Or I should say, My friends welded.

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

Today, I started putting the new drive together.
Just test fitting it together, But it gives you all an idea
of what it will look like

And yes, It's a hybrid. Alternator charges the batteries.

Thanks Cameron 1137, It's been a fun project.

I got a little work done today.
Got the back panel trimmed, And holes drilled for the motors.
Put spacers in between the hubs, And the wheels. To keep them from scrubbing.
So now it's sitting on its own four wheels.
Also, Got the alternator mounted. Still working on the tension bracket.

Re: 68 C 10 stepside "My American Bulldog"

Got the battery tray made Wednesday, Decided to mount it to the rear.
Give the alternator, A little more air.

Today I got the wiring all hooked up, Including a remote kill switch
And a bracket mounted to the back of the battery box.
IT WORKS!!!!

Next, fix a small leak in the gas tank (or replace it), Some double sided
foam tape. To hold the receiver, And remote kill switch. And we will be in
business!
