I went "huntin" today and found a wrecked '75 Blazer. The seats are shot, but the seat brackets, and console look good. Can have for all 40.00, (he pulls parts).
Will I have much problem fitting the brackets into my '70 Jimmy ? I have other seats that I will use, will these brackets allow me to put my new seats on them ?
Any help is welcomed !!!

floors are way different design and shape, the floors under the seats are way uo higher than the 67-72 floors, and so the front legs of 73-up actually are almost vertical to bolt to the front face of the floor pans under the seats, wayyyy unlike 67-72, but seats coulsd work if you use 67-72 brackets.

HEy, I noticed you were askin' about the float trip. I plan on going IF the turn-out is good. I was raised in that area and I can say that it is beautiful country.
If the turn-out sounds encouraging, I wil pack-up and go, be heading South through Springfield, ILL if you want to follow (or lead !! )

I have a console in my 72 Jimmy from a 77 Jimmy. It's esactly like my original 72 console but has cup holders instead of seatbelt holders. I prefer it 10:1 over the original. $40 is an awesome deal even if you don't use them but turn around and sell them.

You can bolt them in if you drill some holes in the floor they are not like thr 73 up truck brackets they are totally different but the Blazers floor is flat,if needed i can get a pic of my 79 Blazers floor,and its seets i took them out of a 76 Pickup but used the Blazer seat Brackets.the driver side appears to be identical to the 69-72 bucket seat tracks,but the passanger side is suppose to be stationary and has metal fixed brackets.

O.k.
I think I goofed in my first thread....
Here is what I've got.
A '70 Jimmy, the current seat "brackets" consist of 2x2 angle iron, and some very solid 1" x 3" x 1/4" wall, tubing. reusing this crap is a no-go !

I bought seats, brackets, and console out of a '75 Blazer that has a tilt-forward pass. side seat bracket.

I assume the console will work, I have the original one (ashtray and belt holders), they are otherwise the same.

What I am hoping to do is use MY seats (not stock), and the newly purchased brackets.

My question was....(and I guess it doesn't matter, since I now own this stuff lol)
What am I up against !!!

Okay, from my experience:

The 73-up brackets make the seat sit too high and on an incorrect angle, you won't be happy with the fit.

Here is what I did with the driver side. I removed front bracket to floor pieces and welded in ones off a bench seat. That made the angle nearly correct (not perfect but darn close).

For the passenger side go to Classic GM Motorsports. They fab the correct passenger side bucket brackets for trucks. Link is on the 67-72chevytrucks.com home page.

Oops you have a Blazer. I suppose you could cut down the front brackets on the flipforward setup and weld them back to get it close. The rear part of brackets are the same. Good luck

Okay, from my experience:

I hate to dissagree with anyone but my findings are a little different. The brackets will fit the contour of floor,and will work if you want to drill some holes. But the seats will sit too low.[about two inches in a pickup] So here is a pic to back me up.
This is a pic of a 73 bucket seat in a 72 pickup. I used 72 bench seat brackets with a homemade adapter to make them sit correct.

Here's where I LEARN something new !!
The floors on a Blazer / Jimmy ARE different from a truck.
I set them in today, already attached to the factory 73 and up brackets.....
Front looks to be at least an inch too high. Too high that is, in relation to the back. If you like reclining seats (permantely) you're gonna like this !!

Personally, I think shortening the front to level-out the seat is the best option.

Give me some time and MAYBE I'll post a little "How-to" on this subject.

From what I've seen in pics, and the desciptions I've gotten here, I understand that the floors on the 67-72 trucks are different than the floors on the 70-72 Blazer & Jimmy.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
