Re: Napco on ebay

I've been watching this truck for quite some time, I could really use the locking hubs off of it and some other things but this thing is rusty. Even the front axle is very pitted, I would like to have it for parts but its to far away. Look at how thin the frame is, is this typical of maine, WOW.

Re: Napco on ebay

Yeah, they use a lot of Road Salt up there. Being a former Wrecker it probably saw a lot of winter time use.

If the 24,000 miles are possibly original, it saw a whole lot of winter time use.

I think this one had an automatic trans in it if I remember right.

As for the Ebay listing, I grew up in Maine and most all the older vehicles got eaten alive by the salt gremlins. Even if the body somehow survived, the frames were too far gone to fix. I had an old '70 Dodge D200 up there that I had to replace 3 cross members on once to pass yearly inspection.

Most women like the strong, silent type… Fortunately for me, my wife prefers the out-of-shape, mouthy type.

Re: Napco on ebay

Yeah Richard, it was. I think it was Craigslist. That one had an Allison and a Toroflow. Ok, we may not be so fond of that motor in hind sight. But, back then? It's a truck for today ordered over 40 years ago*. I never saw an Napco conversion on an automatic before. I'd be pokin' a 4-53 in that husky thang and have just what the doctor ordered . I'm not sure how that motor would like working with the automatic, though.

*I still prefer rowin' but the unusual nature is cool
