Re: High School Project Build II

Great work on the 2nd project truck. The short bed conversion is looking great! Sorry to hear about your loss as well. I'm sure this truck helped your students keep going and have something to look forward to during all that.

No, we have not shortened the frame. I am trying to buy a shortbed frame, but if I can't get it then we will shorten our frame. I'm worried about liability issues if we shorten our frame - I may have to get a salvage title and get it inspected if we shorten our frame.

Re: High School Project Build II

I'm no lawyer but I smell what your stepping in.

Whatever liability there is I would think is equally as great with swapping in a frame as shortening. Your kids are tearing down to nothing and reassembling

As for the title thing I guess it depends on what the little guy on your shoulder says when it comes to getting it registered if that matters in your state not sure how inspections work there. Many have crossed this bridge before. Bottom line those kids are getting something millions could only wish they got

Aren't you going to put the side marker lights back in the bed?

Re: High School Project Build II

I needed to put them back on my build. Don't think I would pass the safety inspection without them.

Pretty trick! Seems I've seen a die like that on another bed shortening thread. Very cool if they loaned it to you.
