1/4" socket set

I dont usually buy mechanic tools at lowes , let alone the new usually over priced craftsman stuff...... But needed another 1/4" drive socket set to stash in my RV

Was on sale $19 bucks, got the SAE. got it home and is a decent set for $20. And nice compact storsge box....couple weeks later at lowes I grabbed the metric one for $19 too

has lifetime guaranty..... cant beat that

Re: 1/4" socket set

I picked up that exact set a few months ago as well. It's a nice set and I have already used it a lot.

Re: 1/4" socket set

I have what is probably the same set and have had it for quite a while. I like that it has both standard and metric sockets so I don't have to go back to the big tool box as often.

Ace and probably Lowes put on 1/4 and 3/8 socket sets on for around 12 dollars every few months but they only have either standard or metric sockets. Each of my GM trucks has one of those in it as all are pre metric.

Re: 1/4" socket set

Many years ago, I bought a Kobalt 1/4 set that has both SAE and Metric. But no driver bits. It and a matching 3/8 set have made many trips to salvage yards. Rather common to find many vehicles are a mix of both SAE and Metric.

A good time to buy is either Father's day or Black Friday.

Re: 1/4" socket set

I'd bet even money that my two sets are the same sets you have. I caught them on sale one day and as you said, they pretty well go everywhere with me.

Re: 1/4" socket set

I'm a tool junkie, and I keep trying to convince myself I need another socket set, but... I've got my 56" toolbox that has just about every size and type of socket, and I have my traveling set that goes with me on the road or to the salvage yard, and I've bought sets for my sons, so... maybe one for my office? No, I bought one for there, too.
