Re: Project "Shifted"

If you install lower motor mounts won't that raise the rear of the tails haft and make that angle worse? Or are you going to lower the entire assembly, motor and trans together to keep the same angle?

Re: Project "Shifted"

That's what I was wondering , the angle being 5 degrees is right . So did Nate think you might have just got the wrong motor mounts? Because mine set up at 5 degrees the trans x member is lower than yours. Mine looks like floppydoodle's

Re: Project "Shifted"

Bennett--G4L mine is a little less than halfway. Actually you can see where I had to shim the tail shaft up so my headers wouldn't hit my control arms. I am machining a 5/8 aluminum spacer to slide in there.

What is the measurement of your motor mounts from the center of the lower mounting point to the tallest part of the motor mount?

Re: Project "Shifted"

Rob mine is at 5* like RRC and the carrier bearing is 2-1/2" shimmed up. From the tail shaft to the carrier bearing it runs parallel to the the frame.

What is the measurement of your motor mounts from the center of the lower mounting point to the tallest part of the motor mount? Also, what is the measurement from the bottom of your carrier bearing to the centerline of your driveshaft? Do you have a picture of the front of your engine?

Re: Project "Shifted"

I assume everyone is getting their "5 degrees down" measurement with the frame rails level and not setting on the wheels?

Re: Project "Shifted"

Posted via Mobile Device Sorry Rob.....when you said yours was 5 I double checked and it is 5
The frame is still level the other question should be is the 5 degrees measured with the frame level or ride height ?

I have also heard that it should be measured at ride height ...not sure which is correct though. I could not lower my engine or the rack would hit.
