cab weight

I want to take the cab off my truck and need to know the approx. weight. The cab will be gutted, and the doors will be off. Any ideas? Can 4 or 5 guys lift it, or do i need a machine to lift?

If you and your buddy are both big country cornbread fed guys, you can do it with just 2.
Otherwise, be safe and have 3 at a min.
I did mine with 4.

I did a cab swap back when I was a young whipper-snapper and did it by myself with the aide of some 2x4s. But when I had a cab delivered to my house a few months ago, being old and crusty, I decided to call in a bunch of friends to help take it out of the bed and set it in the garage. There were 5 of us in all... and, after we lifted the cab and put it on the ground in about 3 seconds, I was a bit embarassed for dragging so many people away from their weekend chores to help me with the cab. It could have been done with 2 of us... 3 if we were feeling lazy. But with 5, we were just in each other's way.

All you guys talking about moving a cab with two guys must have had a BARE cab!! When we lifted mine off, it still had the front and rear glass in it, heater box, master cylinder, wipers, dash pad, etc., and MAN was that thing heavy. 3 big guys minimum, 4 was nice.

True. The only removable parts mine had on it were the wiring harness and the glove box door. Add glass back in and it's probably 75# heavier.

I put my cab back on last Saturday. Used my neighbor's tractor with a lift pole mounted to the 3-point hitch. It was a one-man job that way.
