Ads on the site

Ok I tried to log in this morning and the site was down due to maintenance. And now I'm getting all kinds of random pop up and drop down ads . Nothing changed on my part

Re: Ads on the site

I have a similar situation, Mark. Just started this morning -- every time I open any page (only on this site), an ad appears across the bottom of the screen. There is a 'down' arrow on the left side so I can minimize it, but as soon as I open another page, the ad pops up again. Never had this happen before.

Re: Ads on the site

Getting the same thing here this morning. Same thing with the left arrow or a boxed X to the right of the ad. Click on the X and that ad goes away soon followed by another ad. Clicking on the X brings up a choice of two boxes. "Stop seeing this ad" and "Why this ad" Irritating.

Re: Ads on the site

I was on here early.
Then I came back and open the computer up,
I got the (Site down for Maintenance)

I was hoping it would fix the Subscribed thread issue.

My system is still acting the same.

I only get one add at either the top or the bottom,
Depending on what page of the site I am on.

I have had the pop-Up adds in the past.

So, mine is acting the same as it was.

I wrote a post, then couldn't post it because site was down. Came back later and could still post it. But I never got those pop-ups. I guess it's fixed

I hope these ads aren't a permanent fixture...super annoying.

Mods, are these being rectified or is this a new normal?

Re: Ads on the site

Post number 6 says the admin is aware of this problem and is working on it. Something that happened after the update. I think Josh is a one man show when it comes to behind the scenes making this board run. I know the world runs on instant gratification now, but maybe give him a chance?

Re: Ads on the site

What's this site coming to? The real world I guess. What's the world coming to? Used to be people could handle a thing or two not going right needing to be fixed. Ask the same question after more than a handful of hours with a new issue not being yet resolved. It's time to appreciate all the time things have run smoothly I guess. (Paul, I know your post was in jest. Not targeting you)

Did you read Post#6? I posted it again below. Why would we want this to be the normal? Obviously there is a problem that needs to be worked out

Re: Ads on the site

Is it fixed yet? I hope so. I see no new posts, but that could be people now see that it was a known issue administrators were working on fixing.

I got no e-mails yesterday. I check this morning and unlike any day in a long time I had a slew of junk e-mails slip in overnight, like a dozen or more. It's like Outlook had the same problem. I hope that gets fixed.

I just looked and there are 6 more since I deleted the others. All within 1 hour. It looks like at midnight junk stopped going to my junk folder. Last one was 11:22 Sunday. Now it's all going to my in box

Ok, sorry about that. It's being dealt with. I wonder why don't get them. You're talking over top of the post? I hate those. I get them sometimes on YouTube. Very annoying.

Nope, they pop up from the bottom. Used to be I typed a reply to a message, and hit the reply button below it. Now after I type a reply I have to scroll the message up to be able to see the reply button. There is a down pointing arrow in the left side of the ad and if you click on it the ad scrolls back down off of the page. It's actually wider than it looks in my picture because I cropped it.....
