Interior lighting - 66 K10 Suburban

1.The goal: Low voltage dimmable LED interior lighting for all my night time camping, wheeling , driving needs
2. The Vehicle: 1966 Chevy K10 Suburban. This was a Bell Systems fleet vehicle. Driver side door lock only, radio delete plate, no interior door handles etc., it was about as bare bones as you could get.

There are many different ways to build your own system but this is how I did it. I provided links below to the components I used, all from Amazon. It was
very affordable, all in about $65.00 including wiring. I ran this off the
vehicle battery but you could easily run from a small auxilary battery as an option.
Nothing is permanent, everything can be easily removed. No new holes drilled anywhere, I used what was already there from it's previous life. Tiny earth magnets (strong hold) were super glued to the back of the dimmer switch and the LED lights, so things can be moved around, repositioned if needed.
I used insulated bullet connectors on interior connections to be able to swap things out should any component ever fail or get damaged.

Thanks, Bears63. A simple cost affordable project that made a massive difference in interior lighting in these larger Suburbans. The dimmer makes for a nice night light when you don't need the stadium lighting setting when looking for things.

Nice work! I wish I had thought of magnets when I did my Burban's lights. It would have saved me some work. Your lights have a more finished look than mine do.

I used some undercounter kitchen lights I had leftover from another project. The rear switch is mounted on the rear window defroster.

I think your burb interior lighting is cool, you used what you had and added your own personal touch, makes your burb unique and one of a kind.

LED lighting and camping/RV/overlanding tech provides so many options these days. The magnet idea came from my RC vehicles where I use the tiny earth magnets to secure bodies to frames.
