Question 84 c70 ignition issues

OK I have a 1984 gmc c70 dump w a 366/ clark 5 speed -eaton 2 speed rearend

I have have been working the bugs out of this for a few months now mostly minor stuff but now last night the ignition crapped out. I take it all apart and realize that mickey mouse was there before me.

I have the 7 wire harness for the holley eg-4150 carb and they somehow combined all 7 wires to 4 posts.

My question is will any universal 7 post ignition work? Has anyone dealt with this before please chime in. I am keeping the holley carb for now so would like to have it all wired right.

Thanks
Matt

Re: 84 c70 ignition issues

Ok so I was able to find out the GM Part Number 1116712 and from there I was able to locate new ignition switch, lock cylinder and replacement harness to splice into factory.

MRolds88, Pics would have been helpful as the current switch is a mickey moused universal. I do believe I have it solved

Re: 84 c70 ignition issues

Ok sounds great. I was a bit confused with the description. I couldn't put the 7 wire harness and the Holley together. I thought you had issues under the hood. Turns out you were under the dash. Glad you got it under control!!
