Mid '80s 3/4 ton motor mounts in a '66

After reading that '80s vintage 3/4 ton motor mount assemblies were a direct bolt in, my friend Don and I went shopping at a local yard. We found two sets of these mounts.
We brought them back to my shop and test fitted them in my '66. They are "nearly" a direct fit. It looks like they need an 1/8 inch shim on top of the top frame rail.
For comparison, we fitted these frame mounts as well as an original set in the truck, and took measurements. It appears that the '80s 3/4 ton mounts will position the engine 1 1/2 inches forward of the originals. It would be fairly easy to redrill some mounting holes to move the engine to the rear. The forward position might be OK to gain more engine to firewall clearance.
This is an easy upgrade and well worth doing.
