I was looking at a 71/2 (not sure, think its a 72) Blazer 4X4. It's for sale, double wall top, has crappy paint, bad quarter work, but looks okay from a distance. Rockers look okay but I haven't put a magnet or pick to it. It has a 350, auto, 205, stock axles.
A good driver, runs excellant. Not to good looking. What does something like this go for in the midwest?

Options will increase the value quickly, obviously AC, tilt, tach, and such quite a bit.
I really believe that bad body work greatly decreases a vehicles value. It is much cheaper to pay more for a good body than to buy one with a bad body and have to get it fixed. Bodywork adds up a lot faster than any other part of a restoration IMO.
I would only buy it if it is a really good deal.

I'm not sure what the value would be in the midwest, but the scarcity of the beast may make it a good buy anyway. Here in the frozen north, currently -43 celcius, it its extremely hard to find any blazers. If there is any hope of fixing it, it is worth looking at. Remember, first generation blazers are getting hard to find. I paid $4500 Canadian for my 72 blazer two years ago and it has repairable rust and not many options, but it is a numbers matching truck.

If it's the one on e-bay located in Junction City---wellllll. You might want to check with Kilamangero---board member in Manhatten as he forgets more about Blazers daily them most guys know. He may in fact be able to set you up with somtheing worth while and help with parts in the process---but here tell he is moving to Alaska so you better catch him before he heads north.
In Ky a well rusted but running blazer might bring $1500. From my point of view, the body is everything. That and the originality of piece/parts as they get real expensive--trim,seats, seatbelts, hatch, top, windshield surround, inner rockers, etc.
