Re: "The 72" build

ive been plannin out my 383 stroker and ive got a few questions. im gonna go with a 1996-2000 383 stroker block from summit. they said it accepts mechanical fuel pumps. do cams made for factory roller blocks have the fuel pump eccentric on the cam? and it seems like the roller grinds are way hotter than flat tappet grinds and they have the same power ranges. can rollers be alot hotter and still live on the street?

Re: "The 72" build

Im not sure if that cam is for roller setup or not, I would suggest putting a post in the engines forum

tell your specs rearend gear rpm range etc etc etc and ask for some suggestions

im assuming you wanna build same motor as me but 383 Mines not anywhere closed to being tuned so I cant give you any info on the thumper, ive heard its more of a noisemaker than power maker, it does sound awesome though..

Re: "The 72" build

i ordered the rotating assembly today. i went with a scat kit. its got forged flattop pistons, 6 inch i beam rods, and a cast crank. i think im gonna go with the edelbrock top end kit. they say they made it for the 383 stroker and they claim it makes 460 hp
