"Outkast"

Well this build has taken a dramatic turn so I figured I'd edit this section. The truck went in for it's first surgery about a year and a half ago. It was done up in satin black with some 22" centerlines. I ordered front and rear dropmembers and bought a spare frame from Steve Lowery. I worked over the never couple of months getting the frame "Porterized." Then before I got finished I realized that I really wanted to go in a different direction with the build. In this build thread you'll find both sets of pics. To date my truck is at Rhea's Chevys in Humble, Texas getting made over.

A list of current parts includes:

Front and Rear Dropmembers
22" Bonspeed Big Blocks
Mark Jones 496 BB

I'll stop there cause that's the good stuff.

Thanks for looking

Re: Project TBD

Well things have been moving at a snails pace, as I'm sure everyone on here is accustomed to. Wasn't going to post updates till I was done but since I'm guessing this is going to take twice as long as I had thought I have since changed my mind. The body is at the body shop still getting everything straight and into some primer. Here's a few pics of the donor frame I received. This is after I removed the front and rear suspension. Of course I didn't think to take pics of how I got, idiot, but at least I have some of it after the tear down and with a little mock-up.

Re: Project TBD

Never have been a real big fan of large diameter wheels on older cars and trucks. I think the 20's look good and are just on the verge of being too big. Having said that, things could change once I get them painted and on the truck. I've thought about it before so chances are I'll mull it over again once I have the 20's on there. It wouldn't be fun if I didn't put the 20's on and then immediately second guess my decision

Re: Project TBD

Went by the body man today and was quite impressed. I haven't been over there in a month and a half. He's thinking it should be ready by christmas if everything goes according to plan. I doubt it but you never know.

Re: Project TBD

Well this isn't actually an update as much as a little picture of what the truck will mostly look like when I'm done. With the help of board member silverstep I was able to get some fast paint and body work done as well as add the wheels I will be putting on. Okay so it's photoshop, you got me.

Yeah the po shaved them, they have since been put back though, didn't like it without them, you can see the lights have been replaced in the pic on the lift

Re: "The Black Pearl"

Yeah I completely forgot to update this, I got the truck back from the body guy two weeks ago, it's now satin black and straight, took the rear inner fenders out today and put my smoothies on the rear, not getting to the front yet until I switch over to the new frame, I'll try to post some new pics tomorrow

My dad and I are building a '29 roadster, will be more 50's styled but I like yours too.
The frame is coming out awesome!
