Well, I finally got my cab home this weekend. My father-in-law and freind Steve helped out. It was a pretty painless experience. We pulled it off the frame with no problems but had a little difficulty getting it on the trailer. Then, once we got it home it was much easier. My neighbor about killed us with his anxiousness, but we all four lifted it off and got it on the dolly very easily.

I started removing some of the stuff off the cab. I got the pissy-smelling seat out first then removed the brake booster, wiring, steering column, and am in the process of trying to remove the driver-side seatbelt bolt. That sucker is a booger. It's a torx head and is basically stripped now.

Dang it! Why is my proxy blocking me from your site now.....
Get a big pair of vise grips to get it off, just make sure you keep a spare from the other truck.

That's weird that you're being blocked! Guess my site is bad news.

Why did they ever make torx heads? That was probably the dumbest invention ever! I will see what I can do with a pair of vice grips, but that sucker is in there!

Probably all that 73-87 porn you got on there.....

Squirt it down with some penetrating oil from underneath and after it soaks, go back and on the inside hit it with a Hammer, hard.
As for the Torx, all I can imagine is so it would be difficult to remove. At least it isn't like my Jeep that has the TlT in the middle of it.....

Damn neighbors!
There was a kid that lived across the street from me, hes only 2 years or so younger then me. Anyway he was always talking this and that. He has this or he did that. We got sick of it and starting talking sh*t all the time. Like this one time he was bragging about getting this new job, where he got paid mad bank. He said Im gonna buy me two cars (he doesnt have even one yet), my friend laughed, I said why dont you buy one car and a house, then you wouldnt have to live with your mother. He didnt like that at all. It kinda shut him up for the rest of the day. I found out not long ago that he is homeless and living on the streets, also here that he is addicted to crystal meth. Sorry to go on and on, but I hate when you dont want to go outside and do something because your neighbor is a jack@$$.

mine are still stuck in there... even tried a pipe wrench, didnt work... anybody else got any bright ideas for removing the center seat belt bolts?

uck uck, mine didn't have torx head bolts.

You could try a little heat from a propane torch. This will help to break them loose. Just don't catch the floor on fire.

May sound a bit stupid. But I've used this product a time or two and had good luck with it. PBlaster it's called, a sprayable lubricant available at most auto-parts stores.

I've used it to free up a stuck spark plug. (could turn about 1/4" of threads) sprayed some of the stuff on, left it overnight and came out the next morning. The plug backed right out.

I've used it to free up a stuck bolt on a turbocharger housing. Sprayed the SOB good, let it sit overnight again and came out, still took some work, but I got it free without breaking the bolt head off.

So it may work in your case if you can spray it on without making a huge mess. Maybe after letting it soak overnight, an EZ-OUT extractor could be used to break the torx free?

If no one elses suggestion works, try welding an old torx or allen wrench into the stripped out socket. The heat of welding the wrench in may be enough to break it loose. You can always drill it out from the backside and clean out the old threads with a tap if nothing else works.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I tried the vice grips last night and that wasn't budging it. I did thing of 82 Silverado 4x's idea of running it back through and then running a die over it. I'll try that next.

use a saw/cutting tool/grinder and cut off edges to make a hex top out of the bolt. then use a wrench. it works. also,
use plenty, i mena PLENTY of "Liquid Wrench". Very good stuff.

That's a good suggestion (about cutting the bolt) that a friend of mine actually gave me today also. I have liquid wrench'd the crap out of it! LOL

I'll keep at it!
