4L80 vs 6L80

This week I have been driving my truck, and got the rebuilder to adjust the trans. The T700R4 was built for a car, and not ideal for what my truck is. It has a 2500 rpm stall, and no lock provisions.

So my plan is to replace it when I decide on a couple of options I need to package.

I asked my trans guy about the 6L80, and he was not a big fan. He didn't hate them, but said inwould be better off with a 4L80. Which is my other choice. Especially if I decide to run the Holley fuel injection since it will control the trans too.

The 6L80 I am a fan of from my 18 Silverado, but the T700 is great. Just not right for the truck when I go to do truck things.

Are 6L80 swaps not that good idea using the stand alone controllers?

Re: 4L80 vs 6L80

Having had both 4l80 and 6l80, I think i prefer the 4l80..it seems like the 6l80 is always hunting a different gear to be in...you can hardly feel it shift ,but if I watch the tech you can tell when it does..
The 4l80 I had was tuff as nails..
As far as programming..I wouldnt know
