Re: Picture Thread: Fire & Rescue
It was '92 when I ordered my K3500 SRW. I also considered a 3500HD but went with 4wd and less truck. If I knew about conversions I might have gone that way. I know a guy who lives around the corner who unusually runs a short flatbed 6.5TD (2wd) by on his way to work. He has some (a lot of) really nice stuff and that 3500HD is what you'll see him in most.
Here's a heavy duty 4wd fire truck

Re: Picture Thread: Fire & Rescue
i know of one 4wd in my area and i think they sold it now . it was a 6.5TD auto gutless wounder flatbed . they wanted stupid money for it .
i like this truck so much already i am looking at a 2nd for a more daily driver and keep my current as the work truck .

Re: Picture Thread: Fire & Rescue
Yeah, Tommy's is a gutless 6.5TD/auto as well. His road is down the road around the bend but I can hear his chatter as soon as he leaves the stop sign. By the time he passes my place he's up to speed, about 30. I think that's what he likes about it. Slow and casual. He drives 10-15 minutes to work. All country driving.

Re: Picture Thread: Fire & Rescue
Very interesting to me that you have these trucks in Sweden for fire and rescue. I think it's cool but isn't there something more "local" that could be used?

I´m still here from time to time. The firetruck auction I posted went too high, at least I thought so 5 years ago. Considering today's truck prices it might have been a good investment anyway.

Nice municipal K3500 crew cab w 6.5L diesel I saw at a county fair. Has to be a rare bird.

Re: Picture Thread: Fire & Rescue
Probably a 2000, if those mirrors came from factory. What makes this pickup a municipal model? Base trim with side & bumper trim?

Re: Picture Thread: Fire & Rescue
To me the mirrors appeared aftermarket and similar to examples presently available. It's a county vehicle w a license plate that literally says "MUNICIPAL" being driven by county sheriff employees.
