Post Good Fortune...New Truck

I just can't believe my good fortune! One of our board members bought too many trucks and had no place to put them so he just gave me this one...no really...he gave it to me and even delivered it! CARS4567 you are the greatest...I luv ya man!

Here is a closer shot of my most recent windfall...1967 Short Stepside with a 283 and a Powerglide! Even brought a spare box and canopy!

He did not want his picture taken for fear that someone might recognize him and hit him up for another free truck! He claims this was an imppulse buy and he was not all that excited about the cab lights and canopy...my gain! All I have to do is give him the windshield wipers and mirrors...what a guy!

If it weren't for all the mistakes I made...this would be a part time job!

Well...for all those who are also looking for this sweet deal from CARS4567...I did have to pay for this truck. My wife was watching me post so I had to make up a story! Sorry I had to lead you guys on but some of us will do anything to get another truck...especially a short step. Lying to your wife about a truck...excusable...having your friends cover for you...PRICELESS!!!!

LoL, I can relate, i bought a 72 cutlass 442 basket case for $125 and told my wife I traded the wheels off my 87 k-10 for it. What she doesn't know is I actually traded the wheels for another riding lawn mower to make a circle track racer out of!!!!

LeRoy, I would be but you just about watch a movie through the holes in the side this bed. The guy got the spare to fix the original. It is rusted around the perimeter of the fenders, which are fine. I have not looked to see how bad the rest of the box is...it might be repairable...I'll check and let you know.

Thanks, my box is pretty rust free but has plenty of minor work related rashes. It was a mining companies truck, from 1969 till around 1993. You can bet, they got there money's worth, lol. It even has the number 35, written on the cab roof. So the choppers could identify it from the air. If this truck could only talk. lol
