Back up lights
I have a 71 that originally had a three speed 6 cylinder and I have changed over to a v8 automatic. My backup light have never worked but they came on two nights ago when I turn my head lights on. I have put new wiring harness to the back last year. What has makes the backup light come on when I turn on my head lights?

Interesting, check the harness (the one you may have just replaced) that runs down the chassis. I wonder if the light green (back up) and brown(running lights) have worn through and the brown is now feeding the light green.
That is the only thing I can think of. While it could be a bad ground, it doesn't quite sound like it. You could ground the drivers side bulb socket or even the light bucket to quickly check for that. ------------------ '69 G.M.C. 350/350.
