Info needed please
getting ready to send truck to paint shop
but I want to replace all window rubber and felt including wind wing rubber-- I am thinking of tearing apart before paint and putting back together after paint. I am concerned about wind wing assembly I have removed this once and it was a pain and I scratched the paint putting it back in. What I need is the advice on how to do it right from those who have been experienced. please -all advice is welcome- Thanx.

It's been a while since doing one, but I think I remember it being easy. Just pul one out and reinstall it once or twice now whil it is in primer.

I agree with Longhornmail, taking it now will make it easier. Take out the 3 screws along the front frame and the 2 screws near the bottom of the door. Door panel should be off. Put the window down. pull the vent window up and rotate it 90 to get the bracket out thats on the bottom of the window channel.

Oh yea, installation is just the opposite of the disasembaling.

I feel your pain. The vent are a bear to put in with new paint,I painted mine with the vent windows out and scratched one side putting them in. The only good thing was I had plenty of the paint left and my touch was not noticable. The only thing I can say is the truck will look more pro if painted with all the glass out. If you take your time you can tell where you would scratch them, and put some masking take in that spot to protect the paint.

We put a couple wraps of duct tape on the lower vent bracket to prevent scratching the door and a thin rubber pad like a mouse pad on either side of the opening.
