So I decided completely rebuild it myself in September. Now its better than new. Just got a tune on it a couple of weeks ago and it runs very well.

Very cool build...love the comment that you have a mild 375hp. I bet that puts you in your seat a bit! Cam swap get you there or did you do other mods?

Thank you, just a cam and a tune on a 6 litre LQ4. I don't notice the power that much but all the cars seem to disappear in my rear view mirror when i pull away from a light, lol.

Yeah, lol. Truck was a mess overall especially the cracked frame at the cab mounts.

Man, you've done a wicked job. I'm also from Alberta and am building a red 53 on air ride.

Thank you for the compliments. There's so much passion that goes into these builds. I admire anyone who can complete a project like this or similar on this forum.

Silverfox,

VERY nice build. I (thought) I prefer(ed) shiny paint but now after having done it I can't drive my truck anywhere without worrying about it getting dinged! Kinda jealous of not having to wnorry about it.:waah:

Can you provide the cam info? I have an LQ4 in my '55 that the builder put a "mild cam" in - whatever that is - but it's not been on a dyno to be tuned. Also, what rearend ratio are you running? I'm not sure what mine is but it's a limited slip Ford 8.8 with 4l85e trans in it.

No problem,
It's a Comp Cam part# 54-535-11, it is also considered a mild cam.

Lobe Separation (degrees): 115

Push Rods, have part number Comp Cam CCA-7950-16. 7.350" to give a little more than 0.050" preload on the lifter.

Forgot the valve springs, but could look it up if you want.

Rear end is a Ford 9 Inch, Eaton truetrac differential and pinion bevel is 3.5:1

Shinny paint jobs are stressful for me but your truck looks awesome.
