Haha, she's a bit more rotted than I remember but did start up briefly, was absolutely puking brownish bluish smoke, more smoke thru the holes in the headers than the tailpipes, clutch won't release and rad is toast so I might have my work cut out for me!

Well ... Now that I got registration issues solved......the inaugural work run and overall load test went pretty good, went 3 hrs south to Cdn/Us border at Sweetgrass MT and brought back an imported trailer for a customer. It had such a nice living quarter section that I wish it had been an overnight venture but such is life, why is it that folks at the border crossings are so grumpy? 3 1/2 hrs to get there and 3hrs discussing papers so I can go and 4 1/2 to return home made for a long day!!!, only issues were Leaking injection lines and the cap for the back of the injection pump somehow fell off which sucked

Very nice! That sure is a nice trailer. Everyone I've talked to that crossed the US/Canadian border has shared your same experience. Some even got to stay in jail a half hour into it.

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project

Thx for flippin the pic for me SW, not sure what happened there, it was still a great trip, albeit I really felt weird in the stomach for the first few hours and wrenching at the border was a bummer, plugged the star wheel hole with a chunk of broom handle that I got out of the trailer and bought a marine live well plug in Lethbridge and it is holding up well, can't locate a plug separate, gotta buy the whole housing at 200 cdn so screw that!
The border is usually an easy experience for me but this time there was some missing papers for import so had to deal with that, I actually get more hassle when I go to Idaho on the US side, it's like I have to prove im not a terrorist or do I have fruit or meat or wood coming across!!! What a bunch of crap! You guys are the one carrying guns for Christmas sake... We're just canadians hahahaha.
That bloomer was A 90,000.00 trailer that Lee picked up for 25,000 and will sell easily up here for 60,000, in fact im told that it is already sold pending our inspection, and lee is sending up a 2015 lakota 4 horse with living Quarters right now that I'll be picking up in a week or so and I can hardly wait to take this truck down to get it!

Here's a lakota that I brought back from an auction in Edmonton a couple weeks ago for some mods to the horse stalls, we added a self watering system to each stall for the new owners.

I think I'm going to have to put a 6 spd trans in soon as I am getting tired of pulling at a 65 mph cruising speed!!!

The truck is still looking great! Are you planning on a NV5600 or a medium duty truck trans?

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project

Hahaha, had a comical thing happen yesterday, was at flying j in Calgary filling up after dropping off a fifth wheel and buddy comes up askin all kinds of questions about the truck and then proceeds to tell me that my truck is an abortion and not worth **** all but he'd trade me straight across for a 2008 f350 king ranch!!! , I just said I don't give a **** what you think, its never gonna be for sale and i refuse to lower my standards to a powerjoke!, he stomped off to his truck and I heard it turn over probably a hundred revolutions before it lit up! I laughed so hard!!!

Haven't been on much lately, driving the piss outta the Chosn 1, due to the weird was divorces go I end up with this 1951 truck, it I guess was a show truck a number of years ago and then was street driven some, 2326 miles on the odo .
It's got an awesome stance and looks great from 15 ft still bu damn... I think it'd so much cooler as a 4x4.... any thoughts here?, leave it as is or maybe a mildly lifted digger with like a dmax chassis !
Not sure if they look right as a 4x4

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project

That 51 looks good as is..its hard to 4x4 a AD truck because they're so narrow and they just dont look right..full size axles are to wide for them..mines sitting on fullsize 4x4 now and its fixing to go back to 2wd..if I ever want to do another 4x4 ad I would use the cab from a 1 1/2 or 2 ton truck..the fenders are wider and longer and have bigger wheel openings..I had also thought about narrowing a set of axles or using jeep axles..but in the end i decided to just make mine a decent 2wd street ride..I got plenty of 4x4s anyway

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project

Honestly, I'd rock it the way it is. Mod it to your liking and enjoy it. I have had some friends put AD bodies on square body 4x4 frames and I didn't think they looked bad. But the tires do stick out of the fenders some. but isn't a 4x4 supposed to have that aggressive look any how?

Re: my radical 4x4 dually project

I'm a 4x4 guy but I'd probably have to leave that one. I'd sell it and start from scratch before I could bring myself to tearing such a nice truck apart.
