What is this connector called?
3 Attachment(s)
Attachment 2071369
Attachment 2071370 Attachment 2071371 This is for the coil harness. The swap harness i bought is from BP-Automotive and two of the wires are in the wrong slot. I am getting a PO351 fault code (Ignition Coil 1 Control Circuit) and during trouble shooting I discovered the pink and purple wires are swapped with each other! I need to de-pin the plug on the BP-Automotive side and put the wires in the correct location but since I don't know what the connectors are called, I don't know what tool to get. Can someone tell me what tool i need to remove the wires from the plug? Thanks! |
Re: What is this connector called?
I am just guessing here, use my advise at your own risk. There is a grey clip or whatever its called on the back. I would try to get that off, shouldn't be too hard to figure out. Behind that there is most likely a wedge or something that locks the pins in place. Should be able to see how to get them out from there. I can usually figure a connector out. But I have broken a couple!

On the face of the connector you will see a smallhole/opening at the top of the connector terminal. You just put something small enough and strong enough to press the release on the terminal. A straight pin will work if its small enough. In this pic I'm using bailing wire sanded to a point on a sander. Dowsnt take much to release the tang.

A slotted jeweler's screwdriver or a dental pick works well if you've got one.

I had the same problem with my light switch wiring from AAW

Re: What is this connector called?
I use a very small jewelers or watch type screwdriver. A small set goes a long way. Something like these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-pc-Jewele...gAAOSw9N1VvlHX

Re: What is this connector called?
I was gonna post pics, but see ls1nova already did.
note to first remove the rear cover, that retains the seals gently push forward on the terminal you want to remove, insert pic tool to deflect tang, then pull out the male side removes in a similar manner |
Re: What is this connector called?
