Rear Axle Swap Questions!
So I have a 1972 Chevy C10 LWB, and I'm switching out the rear end in her. I found a 12 bolt rear end out of a 1972 K5 Blazer, and wanted to know if that rear end will fit my C10?

Re: Rear Axle Swap Questions!
Does your truck have leaf springs or coils? The K5's should be a leaf spring set up. If your C10 has coils in the rear, you will need to change some bracketry which requires welding.
I am not sure about the width and the yoke. Also, what year is your C10 and does it have 5 or 6 lugs. The K5 will have 6. |

Re: Rear Axle Swap Questions!
2 wheel drive trucks use 42.5" spring centers and 4x4 uses 40.5". Four wheel drives and Longhorns use 2.5" wide springs and two wheel drive has 2.25" spring. 2 wheel drive is 5 lug and 4x4 is 6 lug, at least in the scenario of your truck and the Blazer. Long story short....No.

Re: Rear Axle Swap Questions!
And my assumption is the Blazer is a 4x4 and NOT a 2x4 in which case the perches are in the wrong spot but the 5 lug will be same.
