Frame welding?

Going to be doing a camaro front clip swap on our truck, want to know what welder I should use. How big do I need to go? Wire fed or arc welding? Have done some welding, just the first time welding a frame.
Thanks

Re: Frame welding?

I would definatly look for a wire welder with a 220volt plug so it will have the ability to get hot enough to get good heat penatration. Make sure everything is of course clean and ground out to a bevel to help the wire flow path. Jim

Dont take offense to this but if your asking this question you probably shouldnt be welding a frame. It takes time and experience ti know when your welds are structurally sound. This is not a place to "learn" A failed weld can end in someones death in this situation. To answer the question a miller 210 or equivelant would be a good choice.

No offense taken, I got some different opinions from people in regards to wire feed vs arc so thought I would ask here too. I'm sure I will have no problems with it just seeing what others have done and how it turned out. Still no response from someone who has done a frame swap????
