cant you use a basic lift with the blocks and run a shackle reverse and just throw out the blocks?

I have always liked skyjacker and springs all the way around.

I really like the Tuff Country EZ-Ride lifts. They are reasonably priced and give a great ride. They are located in Utah,so shipping to you may be better than other places.

The tuff country lift with all springs looks really reasonably priced and has the brake line extensions and steering correction...

the skyjacker seems to be more expensive, and a bit tougher to figure out what i need.. they also have the option for 56" springs instead of 52" .. any ideas behind that?

I'm a bit of a rookie when it comes to lifting these old things sorry if these questions seem dumb

here are some shackle flips for the rear. keep the stock springs and gain 4" of block free lift (5" if you recenter the rear axle with a zero rate)

I'm going with the off road design for my 68 K20 when I pull the blocks out. My buddy just did it to the rear of his 85 k30 Single and it functions good and keeps his load capacity and ride quality where it should be.

I believe springs all the way around is the way to go. Rear springs lifted with blocks look cheap and hillbilly. To each his own, just my humble opinion. You could always buy an add-a-leaf if you want to save $.

I went with Superlift but can't say why since they all are near the same price. Rough Country is probably the cheapest.

$$ spent is well worth it,they ride much better than most and are almost ride like custom made springs. You'll want to spend some time looking at how the springs are made ( taper vs end cut, slide pads, kit or system .

The 56" rear springs are used in the mid 80's and up burbs, and trucks.

I'm not worried about money spent i want to do it right.. i don't think i want to do the shackle flip.. i will probably go with one of the 4" kits with springs all around.

Not sure which one yet, i will research them a little more but thanks for the base info help guys.

That is a link to the skyjacker lift...

curious what the optional steering correction and steering stabalizers are?

the tuff country doesnt have them.. would they make a big difference?

I have a fabtech lift on my Fj cruiser.. i really like it, but can't find anything on Fabtech or even Pro Comp for lifts on these old trucks. im assuming they dont make any?

Steering you have a drop pitman arm, raised steering arm or a S drag link.

Skyjacker,Superlift,Rough country is about the only ones left.

Re: Best 4 inch lift kit for 71 chevy

Tuff Country kits come with a lift steering arm for correction. They offer a steering stabilizer, too. Those are just heavy duty shocks layed out horizontally with mounting brackets. If not,you can get them anywhere that sells 4wd stuff.

I've bought most of my truck stuff from www.summitracing.com. I remember they sell Superlift and Skyjacker kits. Not sure how the price compares but their customer service is hands down the best I've delt with.
