LS Engine install How To/Procedure?

Newbie to the restoration/engine swap, I have a lS1 5.7L. from a 2001 Trans AM with its matching 4L60E transmission. Its going into a 52 Chevy with original frame. I do not have the wheels, tires or bags yet. front suspension is in (Mustang II)

Now I have the ride height measured from a different truck (ground to bottom of frame front and rear). I am wondering if I need to get the wheels, tires and airbags installed before I put the motor and trans. in.

OR

Can I put the truck at my measured ride height mount the engine and transmission than get the bags, wheels, rims.

I have done research but have not really found a definite answer. So what have you guys all done?

I don't have my wheels or tires yet and am using wooden plywood wheels to simulate the size of tires I want to run. I also have solid shock simulators that are adjustable to set ride height. I can move on with the build and save for those $$$ parts layer on.

Welcome MN52resto. I agree with Sid. Go ahead with installing the engine and transmission.
