Lots of info on the board about this.

Short answer is YES you can put 71-72 drop spindles on a 69, BUT you have to change the balljoints and tierod ends (or use a complete 71-72 centerlink). There's a problem with using a 71-72 outer tierod with the 69 adjuster, you have to use a special adapter.

I would like to see pictures of a factory disc brake '69... I suspect you have drum brakes all around, unless someone has changed them to disc.

Use the search function, lots of good info onthis, it's been done a ton of different ways.

Good luck, Rg

I'm guessing you have a truck someone already converted and you want to go from a stock height spindle to a drop spindle? GM did not put disc brakes on trucks until 1971.

If someone already converted it, you *may* already have all the "1971-1972 style" parts on it already. You need to find the part number on the spindle you have now. Every aftermarket and GM spindle I've ever seen has a P/N so it's there somewhere. You can then find out what you actually have. If you're lucky, someone put a 71-72 disc brake system on your truck. Heck, someone could have even put a 1973+ disc brake system under it.

Like I stated above, part number on the spindle.
