Np205 linkage

I purchased an ORD np205 for my 4l80 swap and the shift rails look to be in a different position than my stock 205. Does this require the newer s shaped linkage bracket that connects the two? The bar is the stock one off my original 205 but it will not fit. If this is the case will it still work with my stock shifter? Thanks for the help in advance.

You just need the L shaped link plate.

I ordered the plate today. I’m thinking that’s what it is. Just hope it fits my stock shifter.

Well the new bar fits but now the link on the shifter seems to be too short. So I’m making a Hiem joint link. I believe the shifter is clocked differently on a newer transfer case. Since I don’t want to change my shifter this will be my only option.

Nice solution, did you make the stud for the heim joint......

Are you using a twin stick, or is that a stock configuration

Haven't seen any updates on your build thread

Re: Np205 linkage

Yes, I made the stud, I bought everything from McMaster Carr. All 5/16 316 stainless. There’s a plastic bushing in the shifter. It literally fits like it was from the factory and is more solid.

It’s a stock shifter. I don’t want the twin stick as this is more of a asphalt and dirt road queen. I’m too afraid to offroad it much.

I’ve been so busy I’ve only been chipping away here and there. I did install some exhaust. I’ll have to update.

You should put a lock nut on the adj threads so the threads are locked down tight and not move around. looks nice

Re: Np205 linkage

I thought about that but I don’t see it moving much. There’s only a few degrees of movement until it stops. I ordered lock nuts but they sent left hand threaded nuts so I couldn’t use them.
