door ID

I would say that its not a 1972.
So it would have to be a 67-71

Forgot to add that it had 8 of the white plastic tabs that held the door panels in. Here is a pic of the door panels.

If those door panels came off of them they would be 72 doors. The way to tell for sure is if there is a screw or screw hole below the vent window. If there is then they are 72s if not they would be 67-71. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

The door is definitely a 67-71. The door panels are 72 though.

So door panels from a 72 can be put on a 67-71 door using the white plastic clips. How would you install a 68 door panel? Whats needed?

Thanks

If that door panel fits the window regulator crank opening and matches up everywhere else it is a 72 door that someone has cover the vent support screw. The panels will not work from a 72 to a 67-71 door. The regulator crank sits futher forward on the 72.

the 72 window regulator post and door handle post are longer than a 67-71. you have to swap the guts to make that door pannel work on the earlier door.that pannel is 72. you can put an earlier pannel on that door, the posts will stick out or change them out for 67-71 reg and door handle wooha. im pretty sure that all aftermarket doors are that design without the "72 screw" mounting hole for the wing assy, but i could be wrong.

Probably better off just getting new doors :)

Thanks

I can definitely tell that it is NOT a 67 door. ( vent handle is obvious ) but it looks like a 71-72

ILIVE4TRUCKS 01-19-2004 05:19 AM

It is NOT a 72 door. All others are the same. Any door panel will fit with a drill and some screws. since it isnt a 72 door, you shouldnt have to change the regulator, unless someone put a 72 inside it. Then you are only talking about 1/4 inch longer shaft on the window crank. not a big deal if its just a driver and not a show truck.

From Elk Hunter' post:

"the 72 window regulator post and door handle post are longer than a 67-71"

Does this refer to the window regulator itself being different in 72 vs. before?

I bought a NOS left side regulator for my 72 but didn't install yet. Now have a 71 where I will want to put it. Is the regulator the same for 71 as the one I got for 72?
