Sometime I wonder about this ebay thing

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/74-GM...QQcmdZViewItem

I like how he thinks the 4 bolt block refers to how many bolts hold it to the car, and that it somehow makes "unreal horsepower". Probably in the neighborhood of 125-175 for that era I'd guess. I was going to tell him but I can't figure out if he's serious or just not very bright.

Re: Sometime I wonder about this ebay thing

Sadly enough I think he's both, he's serious and not very bright.

I believe it would take more than a little bondo to fix that dent.

Re: Sometime I wonder about this ebay thing

He is SERIOUSLY NOT BRIGHT!! Well, we can't all be car geniouses. The 3-4 bolt thing is just someone talking without knowing, oh well, you could ask him a question, or just let it slide. I'd let it slide cause these are the guys that know lots about nothing and will argue with you!!

Poor fella, at least he was enthusiastic about the whole deal. The bondo recommendation killed me!

Now if that Vette had the Beta tape player then I might make an offer.

Re: Sometime I wonder about this ebay thing

To make it interesting - I have seen worse. It was a Corvette ad. I'll link it up in a sec, but I wanted everyone to understand that even though Corvettes are getting expensive, this one is worth about 1/20th the asking price. The ad is generally hilarious.

Amen

[QUOTE="Also the 350 engine has 4 bolts instead of 3 making them much more sought after (usaully $1000.00 just for an engine)because they secure to the car or truck a whole lot better (reducing the jarring for racecars") .[/QUOTE]

Is this guy talking mains or motor mounts.LOL

Re: Sometime I wonder about this ebay thing

Bondo is far too expensive and would weigh too much and would probably decrease quarter mile time from a 21.6 sec to a 22.9 sec. Unacceptable. The dent should be filled with wadded up paper towels then covered in strips of 3M duct tape, the stuff that they use on cars that go 200MPH of course. For the final show quality finish, it should receive a coat of duplicolor spray paint from autozone and finished with a nice coat of armor all for that show winning shine.

It does have rusty spots, but 1974 you gotta expect that.

Ahh I love it - i'd give him $100 for it for parts (but only if it ran)

Someone should ask him to pull the oil pan and snap a picture to prove that it is a 4 bolt main - wait that might be too confusing for him.

Screw that, I'd LOVE to see a 3 bolt main block
