Well, I have made three new part orders so far for my 72 GMC SG, one with Classic Parts, and two with Summit Racing. I searched the forum....looking for "Who's who", and made my list of interior parts.
Summit Racing "GOOD": I have placed two orders with them....GREAT PRICES, THEY PRICE MATCH, FAST SHIPPING....they will be getting more of my business!!! ![]() Classic Parts "BAD": I called in the order...seeing how I had a couple of questions. The Rep was nice and answered my questions and verified "all parts are in stock". I was spending over $1k, so I ask for a discount...5% "okay". I ask for a price match on the 72 door panel woodgrain inserts, they had it at $219.95....Brothers has them for $149.99.....silence......more silence...."I will check with a Mgr". Rep gets back on the line, "sorry, we can't match that price". Not good, but I go forward with the whole order, including the woodgrain inserts. Below is the picture of one of the three boxes I received. Grant it, I did get free ground shipping for spending over $349.95 dollar, BUT they charge me extra shipping for the Dash Pad & Headliner Trim ($36.90). I can understand the Dash Pad...it comes in its own box, but the Headliner Trim box was within the overstuffed 56.6# box pictured below.....wait, it gets better!! ![]() I signed for the three boxes...having the UPS driver note the box above. I start checking off items....hoping it is all there.....the Steering Wheel is missing!! ![]() I called Classic Parts to tell them about the missing part......"Sir, that Steering Wheel is on backorder until after the first of the year"!! ![]() ![]() Last edited by N2TRUX; 03-18-2013 at 10:21 AM. |
