HELP FAST: Pic of wiring for starter?

I am in the process of putting my engine in the truck and getting her ready to fire off. Of course I forgot whick wires wen where when I took it all off, I shoulda marked em with tape. Anyways, what wires go where? I have a couple of yellow ones and a purple one, coming off of the same area. Thanks guys.

If i remember correctly, the purple wire goes to the starter
solienoid, and one of the yellow wires goes to the coil. I
would double-check that by turning on the key and seeing
which of the yellow wires is hot, that one will go to the coil.
The purple wire should only be hot if the key is in the START
position. If you are running HEI, now would be a good idea
to run a 12ga. wire from the fusebox to the BATT terminal on
the HEI distributor. The old wire that goes to the coil won't
supply the HEI a full 12 volts. Make sure you run it from a source
that is hot only when the ignition is on. Good luck!

To add to the HEI statement...go ahead and throw away the yellow wire that goes to your coil if you have added HEI.
The purple wire goes to the S teminal on your started.

-For Points Ign. only-
Purple wire=Starter (S) terminal
Yellow wire=Starter (R) terminal, then it should go to the Coil form there with a white wire I think.
Brown wire=from BAT terminal on the Distributer, to Ign. Unfused.

-For HEI (electronic Ign.)-
Purple wire=Starter (S) terminal
Yellow wire=Don't need it
Brown wire=from BAT terminal on the Distributer, to Ign. Unfused (should work but it didn't for me)
I spliced the Ign. wire from the ignition switch and ran a wire to the BAT terminal on the distributer. Reconnect the spliced wires with the new wire.

Guys, how do you hook up the factory Generator gauge??????

Is it disconnected, or just not working? Look for the 2 small black rubber fuse holders on either side of your engine compartment. Check the fuses. They should be about 8 inches or so back from the core support.
