Cab question

I have a 72 cheyenne with a/c.The cab is badly rusted. It needs rocker panels (they are gone!)Cab corners, floors and the door posts are shot too.The doors on it will not shut because of this. However I a 70 gmc that the cab only needs rocker and floor supports.
Would it be easier to swap cabs and put the a/c stuff in the 70 cab?
I looked for anther a/c cab but they are hard to find in Canada and if you do find on the are rusted just as bad.
I have only found this a/c truck and one other one in alberta that are factory.
I just added pics of the a/c cab that i have.sorry if they are not that clear

Mine were rusted below the rocker. when my guy cut out the rockers he fabbed up a new pice for there. I hear ya its hard to find good original sheetmetal around here. My 68 has 2 new front fenders as well. suprisingly there was only a 2x3 inch hole in the box side behind the pass fender. the floor is rusting though in the box but the sides were straight. There is a guy by saint albert that deals in parts for these trucks. cant think of the name right now though. Met him at powerama 2 years ago

It would take 1000 times longer to fix that rust then it would be to modify the cab for AC, the whole job takes only a few hours. You will however have to convert the 70 cab to work with your 72 stuff, depending on how picky you are will determine how long it would take. You will have to cut holes for the diffrent gas tank system stuff and modify the firewall or change the linkage on your motor for the different gas pedal system.

I have a 70GMC A/C cab that needs a rocker panel and a couple of cab supports, only thing is i probably would rather sell the whole truck. Let me know if you are interested, i drive through edmonton once a week.

Blue85 if you decide to part it out let me know. I could maybe use some parts close to home. Maybe Longhorn and I could work out a deal if he doesn't need the whole truck? BTW, what $$ are you asking? Any pics?
