'72 GMC Jimmy Questions....

I have been looking for a Blazer or Jimmy and I found a '72 Jimmy today. I don't know the value of these, so I guess I'm wondering if you guys think this is a fair price. It is 4X4, 350 4bbl, SM465, NP205. It has the factory Dana 44 (disc brakes) frontend, and 12 bolt rear. It has A/C, PB, PS, Buckets seats with console. The body is pretty solid and straight, and has new rockers installed. The floors are solid, and it runs and drives really good. It is black, but it needs new paint. The top is is great shape. The biggest thing I don't like about it is that it has a 4" suspension lift, and a 3" body lift that I would take off if I got it. It has brand new Mickey Thompson 15X12 aluminum rims, and BFG 35X12.5 All-Terrain Tires that have about 350 miles on them that I would also sell. I can get it for $3000. I'm pretty sure I could sell the tires, wheels, and suspension parts for $800 - $1000. Does this sound fair to you guys?? I know pics would help, but the guy is knows I sell stuff on Ebay, and has asked me twice if I wanted for myself or to sell, so I'd rather not take the camera around it until were closer to a deal.

Smokin' deal, if it is as described!

Check the windshield frame really good for rust, look under the 'entire' gasket.

If you were so inclined, you could remove remove the 3" body lift and still run those 35's with the 4" suspension lift without any problems.
No major 4x4ing though w/35's and only a 4" lift...

I paid $750 more than that for a '71 Jimmy 10 years ago. SM465 K/5s are rare in that vintage. Jump on it.

Pretty good deal

A tad better than mine. Not sure how far from Tallahassee you are, might be willing to swap tires and wheels. 31 BFG and Factory Aluminums off a later model Blazer/Truck.

If you don't mind the trouble of pulling all the lift junk off it, then it's potentially a pretty good deal. BUT, double check the rig for rust especially the rear floor, the support rockers, the firewall and the windshield frame. A rusted Blazer body is not worth much -and bondo can hide all sorts of issues. the most common rust area on blazers is the front of the rear quarters just behind the door pillars. Catches dirt then moisture---and that applies to every state---not just the east and north. If you decide to pass---shoot me a note as I am searching for a body for a project. Tks-Huck

Hey since your in Bama, if you buy it send me pic's of those wheels, 12's
are a lil close for me to try to run on a 4/6 lift, I was told I'd need 6's all
the way around to run em, but I might be interested in the wheel/tires.

I would jump all over that for 3000.00. He probably has that much in wheels and tires and suspension lift. It is getting harder and harder to find these in that price range. They are usually junk.

3k isn't a bad deal at all. BLazers/Jimmys are getting harder to find - especially ones in good cond.

I eventually want to run a 4" lift on mine, but I'm a bit away from that step. If you do buy it and want to sell the susp. lift, let me know.

I thought it sounded like a pretty good deal. I will be sure to double check rust areas you guys mentioned. I looked over the windshield frame pretty good, and I'm confident that it is solid. The SM465 is a major selling for me. Most of the ones I've seen have Autos. I am straight shift junkie! I don't own a any trucks that are Automatic. I thought it was strange to see a 4 speed and A/C. If I get it will be in market to get rid of the wheels and tires. I forgot to mention that it also comes with a set of 15 X 10 Chrome wagon wheels with a set of 36" Super Swampers. The thread on them is probably about 40% worn, but still very usuable. There is a mondo front bumper on with a 6000# Venco winch. I may keep the winch, but I will also sell the bumper and brush guard and go with a stock chrome bumper. I want to go with factory GM Rally wheels, I may be open to some trading for some of that stuff too.

Now me personally, I would have put the swampers on the 15 x 12's, so maybe
if ya get it I will have to do some kind of package deal w/ ya, keep me posted
