Does anyone have picture on how they ran their x pipe in their exhaust? I'm wanting to add this to my exhaust, but with planning on lowering the truck 3.5/5 or 4/6, I'm not so sure I'll be able to accomodate this option. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again guys!

Yes it does. I didn't want to have to cut it up if I need to change transmissions.

I am assuming the silver box is the gas tank. What is the black thing behind it?

I think the silver box is the tranny pan and the black one is the oil pan...you have your orientation backwards I think

Gas tank is the red one way off in the distance.

I notice that you have a Y pipe and the end of your headers, where does the other pipe go to?...........Or..........now that I look at the pictures again, what is that extra pipe coming into the X-Pipe? Or am I just seeing things?

The pictures are from the front of the truck looking towards the back. The chrome box is the transmission pan, the black thing is the oil pan, 8 quart Moroso.

No y pipe, not sure what your seeing? One of the header tubes comes in the collector at a angle, maybe that's what you are seeing?

He is forgetting perspective of truck. Sees header pipes coming to collector and thinks it's a y exiting to rear.

What are the benefits of the X pipe. I have seen them advertised all over the place but have not actually heard anybody say anything about them.

They smooth out the idle on the truck by taking advantage of the scavening effect and balance the pressure differences between the two pipes. They have been proven to improve torque numbers, and have a significant affect on removing that irritating "droning" noise from your exhaust. Makes it sound a bit more like a high powered European V8 car on sterioids

I got it from Summit Racing for $99. It's the 3" X Pipe. The part number is SUM-642130. Here are some pictures of it just out of the box.

Kits come with eight clamps.

I would like to know the size of the shared opening.

Who makes mandrel bent tubing that is formed to go over the rearend? If we can find those pieces we could list an exhaust kit in the FAQ.

Man, that is very slick! I think I am gonna have to build mine in a similar fashion!

I need to hack my exhaust up to make it fit around the transfercase anyways. I'll have the x between my tranny and t-case, should be right behind the headers that way (I am running a divorced case, so the x would be right under the driveshaft between the two)

I'd probally make my own though, looks like two peices of tubing that are bent 90 degrees, welded together in a way to make the center pass through the largest possible, then flared on all the ends.

I like the idea of the clamps on the ends too, pipes that go from the headers all the way out the rear wheels are way too long to easily pull out from under the truck if needed be...

1 3/4" Hooker Super Comp 2117 made for a 70-81 Camaro. I had to cut and modify one of the tubes to get them to fit. I bought them years ago before they made 1 3/4" headers for these trucks. I see your in southeast GA, what city?

Kinda figured they were hookers and were made for somthing else. I'm in Brunswick.

Nice looking truck don't think I have seen it over here,I would remember it if I had.I have a 72 in progress It's med green.A lot of people from Jesup, Brantly etc.work over here 341 is a real hoot in the morning huh!
Maybe when the heat index gets below 100 I can get some more done to mine.Someday when you are in town maybe we can chew the fat.

Do you have any pictures of your truck? Post them if you do. You should come to the cruise in at the Hardee's in Jesup. It's the first Saturday of every month 6:00-9:00pm.
