14010207 should be an '80 - '85 4 bolt 350 truck block.

3973493 shows as a '72 - '76 400 head with 1.94 / 1.5 valves.

From what I can see, truck 350s of that era were either RPO LS9 or LT9, and were rated at 155 or 165 HP with the Q-Jet. The heads you have are obviously not original to the engine though.

That's it?? I thought it was around 225-235 HP. Doesn't seem like it's even worth swapping the I-6 out for that much HP. I think the I-6 came with like 140HP stock. Hmmmm , is there any site you can visit that will tell you the HP ratings for these engines?

I didn't know there was more than 1 horse power rating. I am looking for general engine HP. What was the HP for a stock 350 of the years 80-85?

Those are GMs HP ratings, which are net HP at the flywheel. Ratings were changed from gross to net in 1972. The highest HP 350 of the '80 - '85 era was the Corvette TPI 350 (L98), which was rated at 230 net HP. Truck 350s were all LS9 or LT9, 155 - 165 net HP.

Actually, the first truck 350 that was EVER rated at 200 net hp or above was the '87 TBI motor. Not everything was better in the olden days.

Yes, gross hp for the '71 truck 350 was 255. Net hp for the same motor in '72 was 175.
