The original sticker on my 71 GMC is 1/4" in from the left edge of the tailgate and 2" down from the top.

I had a picture of one on a 71 GMC gate I pitched, but can't find the pic now.

It was on the top left. But this one was about 2 inches in from left and down 2 from the top. And it was crooked.

Pretend your on the assembly line, it's friday, and almost beer:30, and slap it on there.
Best way I can figure it was applied.

I almost never see these stickers on a tailgate. Did all '71s and '72s come with those stickers?

What daulie quotes sounds right. The one I saw posted the other day in my opinion was in wrong spot. All the original 71's (probably close to 100 or more) I've seen had sticker in same location and it shows if different. 71 being the first yr of disc brake in these trucks. Kind of an advertisement thing I assume. Never seen a 72 with one originally.

I've got a couple at home. If real interested email me and I can measure tonight.
