What's up folks?
I finally got some pics scanned in of my truck. What do you guys think?
A buddy of mine took them a couple of years ago and the negatives have been sitting around until my girlfriend took them in and had them developed.
It's a 68' Chevy with 67 front fenders. I think the truck was wrecked several years before I got it and they replaced the fenders and hood then. The motor is a 396 except it's not a numbers matching unit. When I ran the numbers on it, the book said it came out of a 69 police cruiser. Numbers matching doesn't mean a whole lot to me in the long run anyway. The glove box door says it was a 396 though.
The truck is in pretty solid shape but now some rust has poked it's ugly head through the paint. I've got a new set of fenders and doors on the way to take care of that.
Future plans include lowering, possibly air-ride, disc brake conversion, some kind of stroker kit for the motor (any ideas are welcome), probably the same color paint, and a large set of torque thrusts.
Everybody's enthusiasm on here has got me pumped to start working on it. Thanks for your help!

Man that sure looks nice. Yeah numbers don't mean much to me either. Even though mine match right now. In the long run I am going to want more power than my 307 has to offer. I'd like to get a 427 or a 409 one day.

That's a mighty sweet ride man! I especially like the rally wheels look, I had a set a while back and I wish I still had em' I have 10 inch centerline stars now. Anyways nice ride man!

Very nice 68 CST! If you're looking for the oiginal look you need a white grill face and 68 front fenders (Obviously). What's your interior look like?

That looks mighty tastey to me.
Numbers.....there's supposed to be numbers?
Hmmm...I wonder if the numbers on that 425 match anything...I'm ure there are a couple digits that match...maybe not in the same order, but I'm sure there are some matching number in there somewhere.

The interior was original except with relatively new carpet. It was in fairly good shape. The seat had started to come apart at a seam and the door panels were cracking around the edges. I threw a seat cover on and recovered the door cards with tweed.
The pics are from a few years back but like I said, the rust is starting to do ugly things to my doors and front fenders. The bed sides seem to be real solid and possibly the rockers had been replaced because they look really solid too.
I don't know exactly what color it is. I assume a hugger orange or something. It looks orange sometimes and red during the other times. I've really grown to like it and feel it's a good color for the truck.
