Re: one piece door glass

Figures...right after I break down and buy SPAL power window kit, new felts, gaskets, and a set of NOS brand new vent windows....this comes out.

Anybody in the market for all this to offset my cost on the one piece kit?

Re: one piece door glass

I am having a hard time with doing the factory replacements...my glass is kinda scratchy, needs ALL new felt and rubber trim and the wings are rusty. I could easily spend that much on all new parts....or just do it this way lol. Then I gotta put it in! yay! haaha. Decisions decisions!

Might have to start saving up

I understand that you can't cut tempered glass, but I know of a local glass company that has cut tempered glass that is used for Tabletops. I never got around to asking them how they did it. Maybe they annealed it first or ??? When they finished, it also had soft edges. My thinking (if tempered glass can be cut/shaped) is to make a fiberglass mold of the door glass shape and contour, then see if door glass from an existing vehicle (like the 90s Chevy trucks) matches the contour. Then cut/shape to match.
...probably a long shot.

It looks real good.
I gotta admit when I first saw the pic, I thought I saw leaves up against the headliner. It had me wondering ...

When these one-pieces came out, I was hoping that they would have a 'tint' version. At the least, I was hoping that a new and improved window regulator would be offered. (May need to buy new ones along with the kit.) Regardless, nice offer in refinement.

Now, how 'bout a flushed-mounted windshield 'kit' and a flush-mounted back window 'kit'?

Oh, and I've heard this cardboard-engineered kit is included with the one-piece deal.

Re: one piece door glass

That really looks great. I would be interested in this, just
need to come up with the money. I need to replace almost
all the seals/molding around my windows and some brackets.
This probably wouldn't cost too much more then doing it
the original way (with good parts).

I am interesting in more pictures and installation instructions.

Same boat here. Mine are non-existent and need replacing. Like you mentioned Eddie the cost would be worthwhile to go ahead and upgrade to the new ones.

Wow, after all the talk over these the past few years. . .
It's been two weeks and this thread appears dead.

Anybody take the plunge yet?

Not really dead. Brothers started another thread with an update stating they are still waiting for the last few parts to come in. I am waiting on that, and some more pictures.

Here is the other thread:
