Alternator Conversion Confusion???

Sorry to bring this question up because I see it has been asked before, but all of the previous information has me confused. I have installed a 100 amp alternator out of a 70s olds or something, I think, which bolts up the same. There is one power wire, and a two wire plug that is different than the stock plug on these trucks. I wired the plug up, but do I have to mess with the external regulator, or can I just leave it??? Any help is appreciated.

Appropriately, here is the Olds FAQ on converting to an internally regulated alternator. This is the best documentation I have seen on this swap.
