It's usually pretty straightforward. You can take your front end off in one piece by yanking a handful of bolts. The things that have bitten me in the past are removing the actual cab mount bolts. These have a tendancy to rust up so taking them out sometimes means destroying them. Also be prepared to find more "damage" than you were expecting (rotten cab mounts, rust, etc.).
Good luck, Kenneth

Yeah I've already found out about rust thats why the cab has to be lited for welding and cleaning, it's a northeren truck so rust is no surprise, main thing with me is no place to work except the back yard in Flordia, all that sand and such this is gonna take awhile thanks for the reply mike

Best thing to do before removing the cab is to lighten the load as much as possible. Remove doors, windshield, seat, gas tank, steering column. Then get 4 friends and some beer. While your friends lift the cab off the frame and set it on some blocks, you supervise and drink the beer! But if you only have 2 or 3 friends you will have to help with the lifting before drinking the beer.

Strap and shop crane works, replacing two of the three friends. You still need one to balance it while you are raising the lift and dragging it. It still leaves one hand free for the beer, however.
