Trailing arm bushings
when you get All the trailing arm bushings out if you look down from the top is it completely open between the two halves at the top? I thought that it was just the rubber and the metal piece inside and got new ones and looks like I gotta get rid of more metal...
thanks Bryce

It depends on what type of replacements you bought. If you bought the rubber ones I believe they come with the entire sleeve. That means the old sleeve has to be pressed out and the new one pressed in. I bought poly ones from Chevy Duty and they come with the new steel inner and the poly but you use the original steel that is pressed in. Mine are in great shape so once powder coated this will be an easy swap out. Good luck

Most replacement bushings including the ones I got from Early Classic are the poly kind with the metal sleeve you press in, or already are pressed in. I think it comes down to whether or not you want to fart around with the originals or not. I'm just going to replace them, and I might even take the trailing arms to a welder buddy of mine and have him do some structural supporting on the ends so they're stronger. Don't have my welder yet.
