Here it is

I picked it up 6 months ago for $500. It wasnt quite a basket case but it was pretty rough. So....$3000 worth of engine and accesories and a couple of grand in chrome and trim + a few gallons of paint and a ton of sweat and its nearly done. I have some overspray to sand off and a few small runs to address but in a week or so it should be buffed out and ready to take out in public. I have to get it appraised for insurance reasons. Any idea what it might be worth?

I judge worth on what I would sell it for. That truck looks way too nice to sell it for any price. It is hard to estimate a price without knowing the specifics. Nice truck anyhow.

Ive got over 500 hours in that truck. I wouldnt sell it for anything. I do need to have it on my insurance policy in case some idiot rear ends it though so I need an appraisal from a liscensed dealer which I should get next week after I'm "done" with it but I dont want him to give me a bogus number. I'm thinking 6-7K . Specifics are 50th anniversary with fresh small block as outlined below, CR 4spd, new interior, new chrome throughout, 160,000 miles, locker dana 60 , new custom wheels and tires, new springs etc.

beautiful truck, how big is that cowl and whered you get it? Your truck looks to be worth alot more than you said, In mass Ive seen a guy offer his 69 GMC with new paint and NO ENGINE for 6k.

The chrome cowl I 'll pick up Friday from Wes at classic heartbeat. Like I said I have no idea what its worth. These trucks are plentiful in the northwest and are relatively rust free so prices here arent really what youd expect to pay where they salt the roads..

I couldnt tell you much about the door panels. My neighbor gave me the reupholstered bench seat and the door panels for free from a 71 that he had totalled a few years ago right after having the interior done.

I think 6-7 K is a little low. Can you replace the truck with another to the exact same condition as this one for 6-7 K? If so then you are pretty close.

Judging from how much mine was insured for yours is probably in the 8-9 grand range.
Technically trucks like ours in "factory or better than factory condition" are supposed to go from 6-9K, one like yours which is much better than stock will be placed at the high end. (Yours may go for more considering which part of the country you're in and if you catch the assessor on a good day)
The only way you go over 9K is if your truck is an extreme show truck, but then you're really no longer insuring it for the road either.

My 71 C 10 is considered show condition, and I had a certified appraiser, appraise it and it came in at 18500. I have it insured for that much. My K 10 came in at 12500, it looks to be in about the same conditon as yours. I don't have any restrictions on my driving, from my insurance.
